Astra is a voice-first desktop AI assistant designed to help its user organize information, work with everyday applications and manage selected tasks. It combines an existing desktop application with AI capabilities through the OpenAI API.

Astra is being developed for personal use. Integrations are optional and enabled only with the account owner's permission.
Gmail assistance
Optional integration under development for searching and reading mail, summarizing selected messages, translation and drafting responses. Sending requires an explicit user instruction.
AI-supported analysis
When the user requests it, relevant selected content can be processed through the OpenAI API to create a summary, translation or draft.
Privacy by design. Astra does not need access to every message to help with a selected email. Gmail authorization is optional, and the user can revoke access. Visit the Privacy Policy for details of Google data access, local storage and external AI processing.
